What kind of certifications do you have?

Our FCC Declaration of Conformity, sometimes called an FCC label, is a mark used on electronic products made or sold in the U.S. It demonstrates that MonBaby’s electromagnetic interference levels fall well within what’s deemed acceptable by the organization.


A Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) accredited laboratory allows us to certify compliance based on such results and state that the product meets CPSC requirements.

Can the baby remove or unsnap MonBaby, making it a choking hazard? 

MonBaby’s unique snap attachment traps your baby’s clothing in between the button and the snap ring ensuring a strong and secure fastening. A baby does not have the strength or dexterity to remove the button on their own without the help of an adult. The button’s inner enclosure is 1.3 inches in diameter which is larger than the 1.25 inches required to pass a choking tube test in the United States, Europe and Mexico.

Is MonBaby’s breathing monitoring accurate?

Yes, under certain conditions. We’ve concentrated our efforts on finding breathing rate and detecting the absence of breath under conditions where a baby is sleeping in a stationary crib. Breath monitoring will NOT work in a moving car or in a swing.

That being said, the sleeping orientation monitoring will work on a moving surface, even in your hands. In fact, when you are changing the baby, we advise to hit the alarm snooze button. Otherwise you may receive a rollover alarm.

I see MonBaby Wi-Fi  allows me to use either WiFi or Bluetooth as needed. Is the WiFi connectivity safe for my baby?

Yes. The WiFi Base is placed in the same room as baby but not on baby. The connection between MonBaby and WiFi base is established using Bluetooth Low Energy. The WiFi base then transforms the signal to provide the range and dependability of WiFi.

Does the MonBaby require medical certification?

MonBaby is a consumer electronic product, NOT a medical device and thus does not require FDA certification. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease, including Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The MonBaby cannot replace proper parental supervision.

How does your product differ from your competitors?

MonBaby has a unique patented form factor design that allows it to be attached to any typical article of baby clothing. Unlike sensors that are built into a sock or a full outfit, your baby will never outgrow the MonBaby. You can snap it off the baby’s dirty clothing and then attach it to a fresh one easily.

What age range should MonBaby be used for?

MonBaby was created to pick up on an infant’s specific pattern of breathing movements. We recommend using the button for newborns and babies up to 18 months of age.

Can I connect to the MonBaby with a tablet or iPad? Does the MonBaby application work with all smartphones?

Yes, as long as the tablet or iPad has Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) capabilities it will be able to connect to the MonBaby button. Android devices will need to be running an operating system of 4.3 or higher in order to use the app. Is it compatible with iPhone 5 and higher, and iPad 2 and higher.

Why does the MonBaby use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to connect to a smartphone?

We are using Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), also known as Bluetooth Smart technology. The main reason for using this technology is the extremely low Radio Frequency (RF) output power transmitted from our device. MonBaby is more than 10 times lower in output power than the official FCC and IC regulated threshold. A second advantage is an extended battery life.
